Applications of CSA Binder

1. Rapid Repair Engineering

  • Highway and airport runway emergency repair: It can reach 80% of the designed strength within 6–8 hours of nighttime construction, allowing traffic to open the next morning. This technology has been applied to over 2,000 lane-miles of highways across California.
  • Bridge emergency maintenance: After the Northridge Earthquake, it was used for the repair of interstate highway overpasses, enabling the project to open to traffic 74 days ahead of schedule while ensuring excellent bonding strength and shrinkage resistance.
  • Building structure repair: Suitable for crack mending of concrete beams, columns, and floor slabs. Its micro-expansion property effectively reduces cracking at the interface between new and old concrete.

2. High-Durability and Special Environmental Engineering

  • Marine engineering: It exhibits outstanding performance in high-salt and high-sulfate environments. Bridges along the southern Xinjiang railway line have maintained long-term resistance to groundwater corrosion since adopting this binder.
  • Hydraulic engineering: Applied in grouting for dams, spillways, and other structures. In the Folsom Dam project, Type K CSA grout was used to ensure the stability of steel gate supports, achieving a compressive strength of 7,000 psi.
  • Buildings in corrosive environments: Ideal for chemical plants, sewage treatment plants, and similar settings. With a low alkalinity (pH 10.5–11), it prevents alkali-aggregate reaction and extends the service life of structures.

3. Prefabricated and Special Building Materials Production

  • Prefabricated concrete components: The demolding time is shortened to several hours, significantly improving production efficiency. It is compatible with reinforcing materials such as glass fiber.
  • Special mortar products: Can be used to produce self-leveling floor materials, tile adhesives, and non-shrink grouts, featuring both rapid setting and excellent dimensional stability.
  • GRC product manufacturing: Combined with alkali-resistant glass fiber, it is used to produce building partition boards and decorative components. Its low-alkali property slows down fiber corrosion and enhances product durability.

4. High-Performance Building Engineering

  • High-rise building structures: Used to prepare high-strength concrete (compressive strength can reach 40 MPa within 24 hours), meeting the load requirements of high floors while reducing carbon emissions by 62%.
  • Large-area seamless floors: Applied in super-flat floors of warehouses and workshops. Its shrinkage-compensating property reduces the need for expansion joints, with existing projects achieving seamless pouring over 40,000 square feet.
  • Low-temperature construction projects: It remains active in low-temperature environments and can harden normally without special curing, making it suitable for winter construction in cold regions.
